The Performance Doctor: My Strategy For Growth in 2025
The reason most businesses don't grow and what I am doing about it in 2025.
I’ve paid over $15K in business courses, and I am going to tell you… none of them are any different. The principles are the same, the tool might be different, the mindset is different. But I am going to tell you the one thing all courses have missed:
It’s not the lack of systems.
It’s not the lack of sales education (which is probably the second reason)
It’s not the lack of social media platforms
It’s the fact that:
NOBODY KNOWS YOU!
This is the number one reason you are not growing.
But you may be thinking — that’s not true, I have X,XXX amount of followers on Instagram, Facebook, X and YT.
And you are right - I will not discount the amount of followers, acquaintances and friends you have they know OF you.
But how often are they thinking about YOU, or your Service?
Nobody knows you - in business, as a doctor, as a healthcare provider. NOBODY.
Take me for example… how often did you think about SmartCARE Education, The Athlete Spot or myself within the last week? how often did you come across my stories? across my posts? how often did you go back to read my last email? Did you even read the last one?
It’s the same with your audience.
This has also been my biggest hurdle to overcome. Even now, with my second office, I still have to remind myself that nobody knows me. Opening a practice is nothing like what my professors at school would preach.
“You build it, they WILL come.“
EHHHH… wrong!
You build it… you’ll have to do outreach, you’ll have to be social, you’ll have to market, you’ll have to do something so the people know your office, know what you do, know why you are different than the 100 other doctors around the area, why they should come to you.
It can be frustrating if you are thinking that your practice will be successful just because you exist in a 1200sqft facility with big neon signs and expensive equipment.
It doesn’t happen like that, and trust me… bills don’t stop if you don’t bring people in.
But you have something I didn’t have when I started…
My mistakes and this issue of The Performance Doctor.
Before I keep going, I want to thank everyone who reached out after our last issue. The amount of messages, emails and requests to get on a call was overwhelming, and I am very happy to help, answer questions and guide you as best as I can.
I am still answering emails and texts. If I haven’t gotten to you, please send be patient and send me another message.
Thank you for reaching out!
Over the last 5 years, I’ve had my fair share of mistakes, failures, and regrets in business. As a result, I’ve spoken with doctors, colleagues, and entrepreneurs (small business owners) who are 2, 5, 10 and 20+ years ahead of me in business and in practice. I’ve had in-depth conversations with may of them who were gracious enough to give me guidance without trying to charge me $25K for their advice and later sell me on their “unique” system.
I have no issue paying for coaching — trust me, the $15K I’ve spent has been worth it in one way or another.
Here’s the ONE thing they ALL in one way or another had to say:
GET SEEN, GET KNOWN… then get better at sales.
Easy to see how the more exposure to the community, the more reach, the more people know about you, what you do, and how you help people can get you to… help more people, AND get paid for it.
But how the heck do you “GET SEEN GET KNOWN” in today’s environment?
Is it social media? google ads? Meta ads? YouTube? TikTok? door to door? Community Outreach? What the heck is Community Outreach? other doctors? personal trainers?
How do you get more reach, without breaking the bank?
Well, that’s easy in today’s world. You have social media where you can reach hundreds, if not thousands of people in a day.
But which one should you use?
Well, this is also an easy one. Where does your perfect patient spend most of their time?
That’s the one.
If you are not familiar with the idea of your perfect patient, this is where you describe who your perfect patient would be and consider them the ideal person you are talking to when marketing/advertising/promoting yourself.
Before we continue, if you are going the entrepreneurship/solopreneurship route, I highly encourage you to read the following books:
The 4-hour work week by Tim Ferris
Oversubscribed by Daniel Priestley

If you are overwhelmed about how to get your name out there, I get it. It can be overwhelming.
If you aren’t sure about which platform to use, use the one YOU use the most. Is this IG, FB, X, YT, TT, or other? It doesn’t matter. Your avatar will come across your message as long as you start getting yourself out there and start promoting yourself. Yes, you read that right
PROMOTE YOURSELF - you are the product.
Okay, so you chose a platform - excellent. Now it’s time to come up with a system to help you GET SEEN, GET KNOWN.
First- Find Your One Liner
This is the “who you help and how”. This is the message you’ll be reiterating throughout your career (until you evolve or something like that)
It can be as simple as:
I help [x people] to [outcome] by [your philosophy]
i.e.: I help CrossFit and Hyrox athletes overcome shoulder pain and build robust and resilient shoulders through tailored programs.
Second - Start Sharing Tips and Solutions
Let’s be honest. No one wants to be sold — everyone wants the information for free.
Alex Hormozi nailed it right in the head when he said, give it all away for free.
It’s true.
The posts that have had the most success on my page have been those where I actually show people how to deal, work through, or work on their issue at home.
But then, why would they come to your office?
Well, this is how you start building trust without actually meeting the person in front of you.
If all you do is promote your modalities, and services, they will find the cheaper person. Go on and read our past issue - Raise your Rates in 2025.
Here’s the trick. Leave your audience wanting more of you.
Not as easy as it sounds — trust me, I’ve had my fair share of wanting to put it all in one huge post, but that’s also overwhelming to most people and most likely a waste of your time.
Maybe I should break down this e-mail into smaller pieces?
See what I did there?
Don’t worry, you’ll get the whole burrito.
How do you break down content?
Over the last year, I have been studying some of the creators whom I have seen explode in their own niche, and here are the three things they do great with their content:
They educate their audience about the problem and the solution
They entertain the audience with stories, highlights, problems, solutions, failures/successes, etc.
They get their audience to empathize with them, the audience gets to understand the struggle of the creator by connecting with them. (this is the hard one)
Obviously I’ve come up with the Three E’s of Content that I’ll be using throughout this coming year.
Educate
Entertain
Empathize w/me
Now we can start separating content into these three categories, and start sharing in the platform of your choosing.
The right answer is OFTEN.
There’s no definitive answer. But over the last two months I’ve definitely seen more reach when I post more than 3x in a day.
That doesn’t mean I have three static posts - ya’ll already know I suck at this social media thing..
But hear me out.
I started with my personal IG posting about my KB training.
When I was posting in the timeline once a week or every two weeks, I saw about 400-500 impressions.
When I started posting once a day (even if it was for 15 days), it increased to 1K-2K impressions.
When I started posting every day on the timeline and became more active on my stories, my reach and impressions reached 40K accounts in a week.
Currently I am not posting much on my timeline, but my reach is still around 20-30K impressions with me posting various times on my story.
What does this tell me?
The more people are able to interact with me, or see me during the week, the more they engaged with my content.
But all that engagement is lost if there is no call to action.
This is where WE as business owners need to capitalize with our message - and it is something I am aiming to do this year.
I can’t post that often. Yes, yes you can.
I also thought that posting that often would be time consuming and not feasible at all.
And I was right - it can be overwhelming, until I found a system that allows me to create, curate, write, edit, and share without getting overwhelmed.
Creating curated content, writing scripts, editing and writing catchy captions is time consuming. But it’s doable when you batch it.
That is when you set an hour or two to do a lot of one thing (video, scripting, editing, etc)
What do I mean?
Instead of scripting, recording, editing and posting one video every day. Trust me, you’ll burn out. You do this:
Set an hour on Monday to script 3-5 videos.
On Tuesday you set two hours to record these videos.
On Wednesday you edit all the videos in an hour and have them ready to post.
Thursday you can proofread them, get your captions ready.
By Friday, you now have five posts that are ready to go.
Now that you have a batching system, you can develop a posting schedule that works for you.
You could post every other and then do a live on Saturday. You could post every other day. It’s up to you.
Here’s what my schedule is going to look like starting February for The Athlete Spot™
Day | Content Creation | Instagram AM | Instagram PM | Instagram Story |
---|---|---|---|---|
Sunday | Scripting | Empathize | Challenge for the week ahead | |
Monday | Captions | Educate | ||
Tuesday | Video Record | Entertain | Live on IG | |
Wednesday | Image Carrousels | Empathize | Educate | |
Thursday | Video Edits | Entertain | ||
Friday | — | Educate | Empathize | |
Saturday | — | Entertain | Review of the Week |
The goal of creating this much content is not to create NEW content all the time.
If you do, your audience will get lost.
Trust me - I’ve learned.
The goal is to create content where you can reiterate your message.
I have already started developing my library of content and once February comes around, most of the work that I’ll have to do is follow my the schedule I’ve created.
Conclusion
There you have it.
This is exactly what I will be doing a lot of this coming year - and it is a system that I have been studying for the last few months that I’ve seen many creators use to explode.
If you want to use it, great. If you want to make your own, go for it.
If you don’t think this was useful to you — let me know. I’d love to hear why.
But now, you have no excuse to say that you can’t GET SEEN GET KNOWN.
Until our next issue!
In health and strength,

Dr. Kauffman
